Hi, I’m Henry, the Indianapolis Wedding Videographer that captured Madalyn and Steve’s beautiful Newfields Indianapolis Wedding. When Madalyn and Steve invited me to film their Newfields Indianapolis wedding, I knew it would be something truly special. From the romantic ceremony at the Lilly House to their beautiful reception, every detail reflected their love story and I’m excited to share it with you here.
This Wedding at Newfields Indianapolis provides a stunning, romantic backdrop for wedding ceremonies. Located on a 152-acre cultural campus in Indianapolis, this historic estate offers lush gardens and elegant architecture. Lilly House is part of Oldfields – a 26-acre historic estate at Newfields designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark. For example, Lilly House’s gardens were designed in the 1920s by the famed Olmsted Brothers. For a summer wedding film at Newfields in Indianapolis, the venue itself becomes a cinematic character – its art, nature, and historic charm fill every scene.

As your Indianapolis Wedding Videographer I am so excited to share the elements of their day at Newfields Wedding Venue. Check out all the beautiful imagery from my new vendor friend Natalie Marie Photo and some more information about the couple, reasons why Newfields Indianapolis weddings are pure cinematic, and a little about Deer Zink Pavilion.
The ceremony took place on the Lilly House Terrace in Indianapolis under the open blue summer sky. Guests gathered among formal gardens and boxwood terraces for the couple’s vows. From this vantage point, the camera captured panoramic terrace views and the old-world charm of the Oldfields estate at Newfields. It was a warm June afternoon, but the lush greenery and fountain features made the setting feel like a timeless wedding film. Filming at Newfields in Indianapolis truly highlights the romance.
Weddings at the Lilly House in Indianapolis adds history and elegance to an outdoor summer wedding. During the ceremony, Madalyn walked down the aisle path while Steve waited at the altar. Peonies, boxwoods, and fountains framed the couple in beautiful ways. Because the gardens are historic, the footage gains a sense of timeless romance as they are captured like a wedding film at Newfields in Indianapolis.
After the ceremony, guests seamlessly transitioned indoors to the Deer Zink Pavilion for the reception. This venue is also known as the Randolph H. Deer Special Events Pavilion. It is a modern, glass-walled space within Newfields’ museum architecture. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the Sutphin Fountain and gardens, filling the room with natural light. In the wedding film, this space felt bright and airy – perfect for a seamless visual connection between nature and film at Newfields in Indianapolis.
In the Deer Zink Pavilion, we captured new moments: emotional speeches, laughter during the toasts, and the newlyweds’ first dance. Because the pavilion has walls of windows, I positioned the cameras to include the glowing fountain in the background of many shots. This helped link the indoor celebrations back to the outdoor ceremony, shaping the perfect wedding film experience at Newfields in Indianapolis.
Madalyn and Steve’s personalities shine through the wedding film captured at Newfields. They clearly make a loving, fun couple who enjoy being together and spending time with friends. We captured intimate moments: Madalyn’s smile as Steve spoke his vows during their ceremony at Newfields in Indianapolis.
By focusing on their story – stolen glances during the ceremony, kind words at the reception, and joyful dancing – the final film feels personal and emotional. For example, in the wedding film, we see them sneaking away for a quiet moment in front of the Lilly house at Newfields, whispering and embracing in Indianapolis gardens.
One advantage of a Wedding at Newfields is the ease of transitioning between ceremony and reception sites. With Lilly Terrace for the vows and Deer Pavilion for the party just steps away, we moved equipment and guests smoothly to capture the essence of a perfect wedding film at Newfields in Indianapolis.
If you’re planning a summer wedding at Newfields in Indianapolis, this venue will make your wedding film truly special. The mix of historic gardens and grand architecture provides a unique backdrop for cinematic films, ensuring wedding memories at Newfields in Indianapolis are cherished forever.
